No. 603: Holiday clips: Eamon Ore-Giron

Episode No. 603 of The Modern Art Notes Podcast is a holiday clips episode featuring artist Eamon Ore-Giron.

Ore-Giron is one of twenty artists that the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the African American Museum in Philadelphia asked to respond to the question: is the sun rising or setting on the experiment of American democracy? The artists’ answers are featured in “Rising Sun: Artists in an Uncertain America,” which is at  Ore-Giron’s work is in the PAFA section of the exhibition. The exhibition was organized by a six-person curatorial team and is on view through October 8. 

Ore-Giron’s work joins histories, geographies and abstraction as a means by which to explore the layered past and present of the Americas. He’s been featured in solo shows and two-person shows at the MCA Denver, LAXART, Los Angeles, the 18th Street Arts Center in Los Angeles, and at PAFA.
