Episode No. 110 of The Modern Art Notes Podcast features artist Vincent Fecteau and artist Yelena Zhelezov.
Fecteau’s work is prominently included in this year’s Carnegie International, which is on view at the Carnegie Museum of Art through March 16, 2014. The exhibition includes 11 Fecteau sculptures, effectively a mini-survey of work he’s made since 2006.
The Art Institute of Chicago presented an exhibition of Fecteau’s work in 2008 and at Inverleith House, Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh in 2010, and in 2009 Fecteau organized an exhibition from the collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
On the second segment, Yelena Zhelezov discusses KCHUNG Radio and KCHUNG’s public engagement residency at the Hammer Museum. As part of its residency, KCHUNG is presenting the site-specific, radio mystery play “Behind the Stucco Facade of The Sickle Museum,” at the Hammer through December 20. Zhelezov directed the radio play and was one of its writers. A clip from “Behind the Stucco Facade” is included in this week’s show. A trailer for the mystery play is on SoundCloud. A complete credits list for KCHUNG’s “Behind the Stucco Facade of The Sickle Museum,” is below.
Zhelezov has previously exhibited at Actual Size Los Angeles, the Fowler Museum at UCLA, 2nd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art, MOCA, the Museum of Jurassic Technology, LACMA, IkoIko Space, and at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts in Yekaterinburg, Russia.
