November’s a big month for Kianja Strobert, an upstate New York-based artist who was a guest on Episode No. 10 of The Modern Art Notes Podcast. Suddenly Strobert is everywhere, including in a full-page spread in the latest Modern Painters magazine and the Studio Museum in Harlem will show her work in its sorta-biennial “Fore,” which opens on Nov. 8.
Strobert and I discussed her interest in Clyfford Still’s work when she was on The MAN Podcast. She was the second guest on the show, so fast-forward to about two-thirds of the way to hear her. You can download it here.
