This week’s Modern Art Notes Podcast features Carrie Mae Weems. A new retrospective exhibition of Weems’s work titled, “Carrie Mae Weems: Three Decades of Photography and Video,” opened last week at Nashville’s Frist Center for the Visual Arts.

The show will travel to Weems’s hometown Portland Art Museum, to the Cleveland Museum of Art, to the Cantor Center at Stanford and to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. The catalogue, published by Yale University Press and including contributions from Delmez, Rob Storr, Deborah Willis and Franklin Sirmans, is full of good reads.

Weems also has a very good website. It’s full of her work, links and more. Don’t miss it.
