Iwan Baan, Aerial view of Benesse House Museum and Oval by Tadao Ando, on the island of Naoshima, Japan, 2012.
Carnegie Museum of Art architecture curator Raymund Ryan joins me for the second segment of this week’s Modern Art Notes Podcast. This week CMOA opens Ryan’s new show “White Cube, Green Maze: New Art Landscapes,” which examines a new type of art museum (or ‘site’) that has emerged in recent years, one that melds inventive architectural forms with landscape design, often with the intent of best receiving conceptual and installation art. It will travel to the Yale School of Architecture Gallery next year.
