Robert Irwin, untitled, 1969-70. Collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego.
This week’s Modern Art Notes Podcast features Los Angeles Times art critic Christopher Knight, who joins me for a look at the Pacific Standard Time series of exhibitions in southern California. In this week’s ‘draft’ segment, critic and curator Ed Schad tells us about the demise of a unique Santa Monica, Calif. artists-supply store, Hastings Plastics. Schad spotlights three works that were made with Hastings’ help, possibly/probably including this Irwin.
